STC Florida is seeking mentors (from any STC chapter) to pair with students from the University of Central Florida. Currently, the program has more students seeking mentoring than mentors available. We’re delighted about the interest among the students, and we want to provide enough mentors to enable them to get started in the program. So we’re reaching out to other STC communities to see if any of their members might be interested in mentoring. We hope to fill out our team of mentors by the end of February before too much of the semester passes by, ensuring that our students get a satisfactory mentoring experience. Mentor-mentee pairings officially run until the end of the school year, although they can persist beyond that if the mentor/mentee pair chooses.
STC Florida has maintained a successful mentoring program for many years. The program is entirely virtual for now, which removes any geographical constraints. If any of your members are interested, participating in this program would be a great way to meet STC colleagues from another community.
We are sharing this with Ohio STC members. Any STC member interested in mentoring a student is welcome to apply. If you have any questions, you can email program co-coordinator John Clement at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also find out more about the program from these links:
