Our Book Discussion Social (Part Two)

In a previous post about the book discussion social (held late in 2021), we talked about Map It. Other books mentioned during the discussion included:

  • Dog on It
  • The Currency of Gratitude
  • The Girl from Everywhere
  • The Last Green Valley
  • All the Light We Cannot See
  • Marriage Can Be Mischief
  • Reinvention Roadmap

About Dog on It (quoted from goodreads) –

“Meet Chet, the wise and lovable canine narrator of Dog on It, who works alongside Bernie, a down-on-his-luck private investigator. Chet might have flunked out of police school (“I’d been the best leaper in K-9 class, which had led to all the trouble in a way I couldn’t remember exactly, although blood was involved”), but he’s a detective through and through.”

About The Currency of Gratitude (quoted from Amazon) –

“We may live in a world dominated by technological innovations capable of offering us “personalized” contact with our clients and customers, but in The Currency of Gratitude, Michele Bailey argues that heartfelt, specific, and direct communication steeped in gratitude can grow and sustain a business far better than any targeted technology.”

My thoughts about what could be technical communication of sorts – as I mentioned during our discussion – is Dr. Kristi Funk’s book – Every Woman’s Guide to Reducing Cancer Risk. During our book discussion session, I also mentioned liking anything by Doris Kearns Goodwin (her book on Teddy Roosevelt, for example, is engrossing), Betsy Bonner’s The Story of Atlantis Black. and Ben Downing’s Queen Bee of Tuscany. While those titles are not technical communication, they were but part of the lively discussion we enjoyed.
