President’s Column (March, 2024)

March is here and spring is in the air. March is an exciting time for many people. It signals the beginning of warmer weather, the blooming of flowers, and the planning of summer vacations. In many people’s opinion, entering the month of March causes us to feel enthusiastic about the future.

I’m going to try to jump on the March excitement band wagon and promote the Ohio STC events that we have planned for this month and a little beyond.

We have started the Employment Readiness Series that Jack Molisani is presenting for us. Last month we presented the first session in the series Resume Secrets That Might Surprise You. This month we will present Get that Interview! How to Beat the Dreaded Applicant Tracking System. And in April, we will present Personal Branding: Are You Selling Features, or Benefits?

We hope you can join us for this series. Jack is a dynamic speaker who enjoys interacting with the audience and answering guest questions. If you would like a video copy of our first session and a copy of Jack’s slides, please contact and I’ll be happy to share the video and slides with you.

Our networking topic this month is Getting the Most out of Summit. The aim of this event is to help those of us who are planning to attend, or considering attending, the Summit to make the most out of the experience. Some of us have attended many Summits through the years and can share the benefits of attending this STC annual event.

Ohio STC is also looking forward to the future as we consider the election into key positions for next year and the events we want to present. We couldn’t do any of this without your participation. We welcome any ideas that you may have about future networking events, program topics, newsletter articles, or ways that you might want to volunteer your services. You can serve in an elected position, write an article for the newsletter, or share your expertise and experience during one of our events. We welcome and rely on your participation and thank each of you for it.

Meanwhile, enjoy the approaching spring until we meet again at an STC event!
