Certified Professional Technical Communicator Program

sml_cptc_logoThe STC Certification Commission program is a three-tiered professional certification: Foundation, Practitioner, and Expert. The Certified Professional Technical Communicator – Foundation Level is now accepting candidates. Cedarville University

Cedarville University’s professional writing and information design major prepares students to write, edit, and design documents that provide readers with important information, connect with them emotionally, and help them accomplish tasks. Students often complete writing and editing projects for real clients, both inside and outside the university. Graduates find employment as communication experts in a variety of industries.

Cleveland State University

Cleveland State University offers non-credit courses in technical writing and short-term certificates in science writing through the Professional Development Center and School of Communication, respectively. It also offers a Training and Development certificate through the Adult Learning and Development Program in the Department of Counseling, Administration, Supervision and Adult Learning (CASAL).

Miami University

Miami University’s Department of English features an undergraduate major in Professional Writing, offering tracks in Digital and Technical Communication, Editing in Professional Contexts, Intercultural Rhetoric and Global Writing, and Public Writing and Rhetoric, as well as a Self-Designed option.The department also offers a minor in Rhetoric and Writing. At the graduate level, Miami has an M.A. and Ph.D. program in Composition and Rhetoric where students may elect several courses in professional writing and where Ph.D. students have opportunities to teach in the Professional Writing major.
